Budget to the Rescue

Budget to the Rescue

We all understand how times are tough these days and because of this, there are more families who are now living with a budget. A budget could have been used earlier but better late then never, right?  Some people don’t feel they need a budget to keep track of their funds but it is still the perfect tool to watch your income and spending.

It is impossible to keep it all in your head so putting in on paper or on a computer program will allow you to see where every penny is going.  This way you won’t overspend and you will be prepared for those quarterly installments that can catch you off guard.  A budget also lets you save for that summer vacation that comes around so quickly.

It is easy to do, just start by writing down all the income you have for one month. Every paycheck, interest paid, recycling funds or money from a yard sale.  List it all, then add it up. Then list those things you spend on every month such as groceries, transportation costs and entertainment. Remember the property taxes and insurance that is not monthly. Now you know how much comes in and how much goes out.
